On a clear morning, the pyramid where a king was buried thirteen hundred years ago appears through the canopy. It's the kind of thing you don't quite believe until you're standing there.27 square meters, ground floor, surrounded by vegetation on every side. Some face the garden, some the mountain, some have rooftop access. No two are identical.These are the rooms couples ask for. Nine out of ten of our reservations are for two people, and this is the size where privacy and space meet at the right price.We assign based on availability. That proximity is the whole point: the pool stays warm enough that people get in at midnight, and from these rooms you don't have to think about it; you just walk out.Space is the other reason people book these. Room to leave your things out, to move around, to sit somewhere that isn't the bed. After a week of small hotel rooms on the road, that matters more than most people expect.Windows on more than one side, so the light changes through the day instead of arriving once and leaving. No curtains — Adriana designed it that way, and she's not changing it.Each Master Suite is different from the next. She didn't build them to match.Suite Sky SuiteThe bed sits on a raised round wooden platform. Not because it's a design flourish but because of the window.The window takes up most of one wall, floor to ceiling, with no curtains. It looks straight out at the jungle and the mountains behind it. The bed is raised so that when you're lying down, that view is at eye level. You wake up horizontal, and the first thing you see is the forest.No curtains because nobody can see in. There are no rooms facing this one. That's the whole reason it works.One thing to know: there's a tub in the bathroom, but it's a shower, not a soaking tub. We don't fill it. If a long bath is what you're after, this isn't the room.Around 20 square meters. Small and completely built around one window. Monkey SuiteThe room closest to the trees, and the howler monkeys are not a possibility here they're a fact of your morning.Around 20 square meters, no curtains, and the jungle starts about a meter past the glass. Guests open the door at night and sleep with only the screen between them and the forest. In winter it drops to 16 degrees and people turn the air conditioning off entirely.Along with Sky Suite, this is the most affordable private room we have. It's also one of the two that guests write about most.Small room, big window, and a forest that makes noise before your alarm does.Villas Star Villa and Sun VillaThe two rooms where a family fits without splitting up.Each villa is really two connected rooms: one king bed and four singles, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a terrace with a swing, and air conditioning. Five to seven people, comfortably. Ground floor or top floor, depending on availability.They sit apart from the pool and the restaurant far enough that a family with kids isn't apologizing to anyone, and quiet enough that nobody hears a plate or a conversation at breakfast.What people actually do here: they open the terrace door and leave it open. In winter, the temperature drops to 16 degrees at night; guests turn off the air conditioning and sleep with nothing between them and the jungle but a screen door. When it rains, and it rains hard here, they open the door on purpose to watch it come down over the trees.The kitchen means you're not tied to our schedule. First coffee happens on your own terrace, at whatever hour your body decides.Families from the Netherlands, France, Italy, and Villahermosa have all ended up in these two villas. So have retreat groups. If you're four, five, or six people and you'd rather stay together than book three separate rooms, this is why they exist.Bed in Sun Villa Hostel Single Bed Sun Villa HostelA bed in a shared room, at the lowest price we offer.Mixed dorm with two bathrooms, a small kitchen, a living room, and a dining area a common space that belongs to the dorm, separate from the rest of the property. Your own bed, fresh linens, and secure storage.What you're actually sharing is where you sleep. The pool, the restaurant, the jungle, the yoga, the ice bath, the temazcal same access as everyone else on the property. Nothing here is reserved for the private rooms.Most people who book this bed are deep into a long trip through Mexico and have slept in worse for more money. If you sleep fine around other people and you'd rather spend on the days than the nights, this is the right call.If you know you're a light sleeper, take a private room. It's a real difference and we'd rather tell you now.
